Description
The position requires working closely with stakeholders across various lines of business and all brands within Discovery to build and improve the global Direct-to-Consumer platform & front-end product and experience. As a result, you will need to be a practiced negotiator and a creative problem solver, capable of building consensus across a large global organization, as well as bring and cultivate new product capabilities that will cement Discovery and its brand as number one in life and sport entertainment.
You will drive the teams’ priorities ladders up to the broader Discovery Product and Technology Group strategy.
You will coordinate efforts across Discovery to build products that provide differentiated value to customers, partners and suppliers.
Your team will be responsible for building and delivering the roadmap for Multi-tenant streaming services, which includes Streaming, Metadata, Artificial Intelligence, personalized highlights and many more.

The SVP-Production & Development role will be a key creative force for the joint venture with Chip and Joanna, leveraging a highly talented programming team to develop and oversee hit series for the Network.
This position will play a critical leadership role in production initiatives. As a team member within Discovery Digital Media’s Planning and Operations team, the Inventory and Yield Coordinator is responsible for a broad range of inventory and revenue analysis and reporting across the entire portfolio of Digital properties. The Role
Reporting to the Director of Site Reliability Engineering, this position is critical to the mission of the Site Reliability Engineering team as part of the Technology Operations Group. The core purpose of the role is to ensure that our complex technologies and systems are designed and operated for high efficiency and low risk. This includes participating in planning and designing infrastructure, monitoring solutions, metrics collection and reporting, and automation systems. The postholder has a background as an operations generalist and is able to work closely with our engineering and product development teams from the early stages of design all the way through identifying and resolving production issues. The ideal candidate will be passionate about a data and metrics-driven operations role that involves work across multiple IT and broadcast technologies and will also believe that automation is a key component to operating large-scale systems.

The Site Reliability Engineering team partners with engineering and workforce technology teams to advocate sensible, scalable systems design as well as building the best tools to diagnose, resolve and prevent issues. The postholder is an ambassador for Site Reliability Engineering and good design within GT&O and so should be a great communicator and enthusiastic champion of Technology Operations.
In advocating and participating in good design practices and data-driven process and systems improvement, Site Reliability Engineers service the internal needs of the Technology Operations team, the broader GT&O organization, as well internal customers across myriad technology and business teams. The postholder may be assigned on a permanent or rotating basis to a focus area that could include:
• Monitoring tool ownership, including establishment, configuration, administration, and operation of one or more monitoring tools or platforms.
• Technology operations service improvements, involving metrics collections and reporting as well as configuration, incident, problem, and change management workflow and automation analysis and design.
• Enterprise and digital platform and application performance and capacity assessment and design in the service of increasing efficiency, exceeding availability and performance SLA’s, and meeting disaster recovery requirements.
The Postholder is expected to work regular office hours but during large events should expect to work outside of this including weekends and nights occasionally.

Our Team
The Media Strategy & Analytics team is a central hub of excellence around media planning, buying, and strategy. Moving to an in-house media agency model enables a more holistic and integrated approach to driving multiplatform viewership of Discovery Inc’s TV networks and TV Everywhere streaming services (Discovery, TLC, HGTV, Food Network, ID, OWN, etc.), along with driving subscriptions to Discovery’s new direct-to-consumer digital streaming products (MotorTrend and GOLFTV).

The SVP will help translate the Digital vision and strategy into actions and successful results.
