  • Position Summary

    The Global Events and Brand Activation Team serves as the internal experiential agency for Discovery Inc and our portfolio of brands. Partnering globally with all of our networks and corporate functions, the Global Events team is flawlessly executing events from “ideation though implementation” around the world. We work in a fast paced, on the go environment, bringing our brands to life in the most creative and innovative ways.

     

    The primary role and responsibility of this position is to assist on a variety of events and activations in the Global Events & Brand Activation group (consumer, B2B, press events, network premiers and special events). Duties will include, but are not limited to registration site creation, registration management, creation of client pitch decks, and on-site management and event coordination. This role also requires extensive collaboration with internal clients and stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of industry events vital to the company’s business units.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan, coordinate, and execute, multiple types of events vital to Discovery’s businesses and portfolio.
    • Collaborate with network marketing and communication groups, ad sales, domestic distribution, and other business units to maximize event impact and create synergistic opportunities.
    • Work with Discovery’s creative agencies and partners to help design and produce all creative event elements
    • Manage all facets of the event budgets on behalf of client groups.
    • Assist with the selection and management of external vendors and consultants.
    • Work with internal clients to design event properties, collateral materials and premiums to support Discovery Communications business priorities and objectives.
    • Create detailed recaps for clients outlining results and key learning’s from Discovery events.
    • Research opportunities for presence at other and/or new events for the division.
    • Develop and create consumer and industry targeted events using traditional and non-traditional vehicles.
    • Incorporate partners into highly visible and valuable marketing events.
    • Demonstrate expertise with marketing concepts, creative development processes, and brand management.

     

    Requirements

     

    • 3-5 years of progressively responsible event coordination experience
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task, meet multiple deadlines, and function in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Budget management and logistical planning experience.
    • The ability to “sell” an idea to internal stakeholders is a must.
    • Familiarity with Social Media tools and integration into events structure.
    • Ability to interact with a diverse and dispersed employee base, championing communication across the organization.
    • Must be a flexible, high-energy team player with a commitment to high-quality deliverables.
    • Must be able to engage in travel as events require
    • Must be able to conduct business during non-business hours, including weekends, when necessary.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
    • Bachelors Degree in related field is required
    • Legal right to work in United States.
