    Position Summary

    This position provides a critical role managing day to day operations for developing and executing program deliverables that meet client objectives. The qualified candidate will take ownership of projects and client communications and be responsible for all elements of account management, renewing account deliverables, upselling when appropriate, and actively merchandising the account.


    Strategic Thinking

    1. Demonstrates a core understanding of marketing tools and techniques on behalf of several different client directives
    2. Specifically focuses on program activation and merchandising the program for the client and for DE
    3. Develops an understanding of internal (and external) stakeholder disciplines and collaborates across departments
    4. Participates in overall planning process
    5. Works with client and account leader(s) to determine program parameters and overall requirements
    6. Assists with program metrics, research findings, data, competitive activity, etc.,
    7. Assists program team in developing program-specific creative strategies and ongoing optimizations
    8. Works with program team to ensure program elements are on target
    9. Reviews analysis of program results and makes recommendations to drive engagement


    Client Relations
    1. Supports client contact on day-to-day program development and leads client communication on specific assignments you are accountable for
    2. May develop or assist account leader(s) in preparing and delivering client presentations and recommendations
    3. Ensures client needs and deliverables are met
    4. Acts as an advocate for the client and for DE
    5. Establishes and maintains a positive relationship with clients
    6. Finds solutions to day-to-day issues/problems including liaising internally on behalf of client
    7. Provides feedback to team and to individuals on client-related issues as appropriate
    8. Recommends new techniques to resolving issues
    9. Demonstrates to client how Discovery Education adds value


    Financial Management
    1. Helps to manage key aspects of budgets (including review/approval of POs/Invoices)
    2. Oversees expenses and ensures that budgets will not be exceeded and that budgets are revised as needed
    3. Works to identify cost saving measures throughout program development and execution


    Project Management
    1. Demonstrates extreme attention to detail to ensure flawless delivery of deliverables
    2. Ensures that schedules are developed upfront and are closely monitored throughout the program to ensure on time deliverables
    3. Takes ownership of program deliverables assigned and proactively coordinates and organizes efforts among departments
    4. Researches and resolves program issues in conjunction with account leaders
    5. Provides appropriate direction to team members and other departments to meet program and client deliverables
    6. Works with team to raise issues/points of view and develop a unified point‐of‐view to client
    7. Works to ensure quality and timeliness and to ensure it meets client and program objectives
    8. Secures appropriate client and internal approvals before work is released
    9. Ensures that sound business principles are applied and followed
    10. Continuously notifies team and client on program progress
    11. Prepares reports for internal and client meetings as needed
    12. Conducts” work-in-progress” meetings when necessary
    13. Issues client status reports and necessary program documentation
    14. Supports account team with sell‐in for new project ideas to client and utilizes Discovery resources
    15. Researches and updates team on current industry news related to client projects
    16. Manages contractors remotely

    * Maintain an understanding of industry trends, current events, anything that may impact the business by reading professional publications, researching all available prospect/product resources
    * Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills
    * Understand new technologies and industry trends and be able to speak to how they impact Discovery Education
    * Read professional literature regularly to contribute as a thought-leader and educational expert to DE
    * Establish strong relationships with associated corporate partners and DE colleagues across the business
    * Use DE resources wisely to ensure the maximum impact and look for opportunities to reduce costs and ensure a successful customer experience
    * Maintain a deep and current knowledge of all products and value-added offerings at Discovery Education


    Basic Qualifications
    * Bachelor’s Degree
    * Proven project management skills with a keen eye to follow-up
    * Self-starter but collaborates well in a team environment
    * Attention to detail
    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    * Candidate must be willing to travel 40-60% of time for work meetings and events
    * At least 3 years’ experience (3-5 year preferred) in project management, marketing, and and/or advertising roles
    * Experience with knowledge of schools and education is preferred
    * Strong knowledge and experience with office technology and proficiencies using digital communication and organizational tools
    * Impeccable interpersonal, presentation, organizational and verbal/written communication skills
    * Attention to detail and the ability to manage a diverse workload
    * Ability to work as a team and in a fast-paced environment
    * Must have the legal right to work in the United States
