  • Position Summary

    Discovery Inc is a complex multidivisional, global media and entertainment firm. The Senior Treasury Analyst reports to the Senior Director / Head of Capital Markets and supports the Treasury Department’s risk management program. The position will assist in activities surrounding currency exposures, corporate debt, interest and capital markets side of the business.

    Responsibilities

    1. Perform capital structure analysis and provide support for debt and equity capital markets activity
    2. Help develop reports, analyse performance and manage database for all of Discovery’s investments
    3. Coordinate and confirm all foreign currency and derivative trades with bank counterparties, ensuring timely and accurate settlement of funds.
    4. Run the month end FX and derivative tasks (portfolio MTM, effectiveness testing, realised hedge settlements, related accounting)
    5. Maintain internal management reports as required including maturity reports, valuation summaries, treasury metrics/performance measurements and monthly reporting of actual and forecasted foreign remittances
    6. Use financial modelling and research skills to assist in creating complex capital markets/ financial analyses
    7. Support annual corporate planning process with cash, capital and interest expense forecast
    8. Assist in preparation of presentations for periodic Board of Director and Finance Committee meetings
    9. Complete other tasks as requested by Treasurer and Sr Director

    Requirements

    * Undergraduate degree in a Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics or similar subject
    * Minimum of 1-3 years’ financial work experience (FPA, Treasury, Accounting, Banking or related experience)
    * Excellent oral and written communications and problem-solving skills
    * Advanced PC skills, proficient with Microsoft Excel and solid financial modelling skills
    * Experience with Bloomberg and Quantum (preferred but not required)
    * Understanding of foreign exchange and economic markets

    * Must have legal right to work in the United States
