  • Position Summary

    The Partnership Marketing Manager will develop, plan, and execute the platform and partnership go-to-market strategy for the global launches of a new kid-targeted mobile app. The candidate must be passionate about mobile marketing and the publishing ecosystem and growing business through platform and partnership strategies and optimization. The Partnership Marketing Manager will be a highly collaborative, global-minded, data driven self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment.


    As Partnership Marketing Manager, the ideal candidate has the ability to tune into the market landscape, process consumer insights, identify data-driven trends to inform go to market strategy and execution for partnership programs, then effectively work with peers across the company to drive results. The Partnership Marketing Manager will work closely with the Product Development Team, Mobile Platform Distribution Partners, High-Profile External Marketing Partners, Key Partners within Discovery Communications, colleagues on the Marketing Team, Global Partners, and Discovery Kids Stakeholders to to define, launch, test, measure, and optimize all marketing efforts for partnership programs.


    The Mobile Product Marketing Manager is expected to possess a wide set of skills including extensive experience working with mobile platform partners, partner campaign strategy and execution, creative direction, rigorous analysis, identification of opportunities for optimization, application and management of optimizations, frequent communication, collaboration with others throughout the organization, and ongoing self-education, all accomplished with a highly productive work ethic, supporting demeanor, and the highest levels of professionalism.


    1. Lead partnership and platform marketing strategy and execution for kid-targeted mobile title customized by global markets
    2. Work closely with Senior Marketing Manager, Product Development and Global Teams to ensure goals and priorities are aligned
    3. Educate, excite and drive interest and excitement for product launches with key partners through compelling presentations and pitches to secure partnership opportunities customized by market that drive results
    4. Cultivate strong relationships with and act as point of contact for mobile platform partners globally (Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft) to build early and sustained excitement for launches and develop volume-driving partnership promotional strategy with meaningful programs and placements
    5. Work with key partners within Discovery Communications to develop and execute cross-promotional opportunities that drive results
    6. Create sales-ready tools, including high-quality, market-facing presentations and assets to enhance the selling proposition of the product for use in partner presentations
    7. Produce best in class marketing materials for account/partner specific programs, advertising and other collateral materials
    8. Analyze market trends and recommend changes to partnership marketing strategies based on analysis and feedback
    9. Be the expert on mobile platform partnership marketing – communication, opportunities, placements, specs, etc
    10. Provide partnership marketing guidance rooted in consumer and competitive insights to inform content and the product development process
    11. Partner closely with internal PR, integrated marketing, social media and franchise teams to develop and implement marketing plans across launch and sustainment phases
    12. Analyze performance of partnership marketing campaigns to regularly identify areas for optimization
    13. Travel to attend and/or pitch at partner presentations and meetings and build relationships with key partners and contacts



    * Minimum 4+ years of digital marketing, partnership marketing, or mobile marketing experience preferably including brand management, product marketing, and acquisition experience
    * College degree required, MBA preferred
    * Experience marketing mobile titles, ideally kid-targeted and preschool-targeted products
    * Extensive experience working with mobile platform partners (Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft) including established contacts and relationships
    * Must be able to effectively manage several global launches simultaneously
    * Possess strong people skills: this includes positive leadership abilities, collaboration, patience and tact
    * Personality suited to handle responsibility, leadership and deadlines under pressure
    * Strong analytical skills
    * Ability to implement strategic partnership marketing as well as daily marketing execution and optimization
    * Experience working with established brands, ideally for kids and families
    * Passionate about mobile gaming, apps and the mobile industry, specifically kids products
    * Extensive experience with iOS and Android app partnership marketing
    * Significant experience, proficiency in, and passion for digital media, social media, and mobile apps
    * Entertainment experience is a plus
    * Proven track record in creating and delivering successful and results-driven partnership marketing campaigns (most immediately but not limited to store merchansiding and featuring on partner platforms, digital marketing channels, e.g. mobile on-device advertising, special offers and promotions, SEM, social media, email campaigns)
    * Must be able to successfully work independently with most stakeholders based in other offices or traveling frequently
    * Ability to effectively communicate and “sell” strategies to high-priority partners across the world
    * Highly detailed and organized
    * Excellent communications (oral and written) skills
    * Strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills
    * Strong technical aptitude and quick learning ability
    * Proficiency in PowerPoint and Keynote, with strong presentation skills and an ability to clearly articulate Strategy, Objectives, and Tactics along with rationale
    * Travel required
